The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson has held productive discussions with faculty members to prepare their minds for key academic initiatives on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Florence Onny Auditorium.
The meeting specifically focused on preparing their minds for graduate teaching, submission of examination grades, upcoming graduation on November 30, 2024, research, teaching as well as discussions on faculty welfare issues and student experience matters.
The Pro. Vice-Chancellor, who chaired the meeting, highlighted the importance of members鈥� contributions, dedication to teaching, research and service excellence to the university’s success.
Prof. Hinson emphasized the crucial聽need to strengthen COLT and human resources. The meeting agreed on the following issues:
- A proposal to create a centralized repository for marked examination scripts
- Assurance of payment of allowances and proposed payment schedule for programmes coordinators linked to report submissions through Deans
- 聽An emergency Graduate Board meeting to tackle pressing issues promptly.

The Dean of SGSR, Prof. Ebenezer 聽Malcalm聽provided an overiew of the recent Postgraduate September 2024 intake orientation programme. He gave a detailed analysis of student applications for each programme of study.
The Dean of聽 FoCIS, Dr. William Brown 鈥� Acquaye touched on submission of聽examination grades. He elaborated on the delays in student results聽uploads.
In addition, Dr. Brown-Acquaye, Mr. Dominic Louis and Mr. Henaku expressed concerns on faculty welfare, highlighting the need for institutional聽support and improvement.
The Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. Emmanuel Freeman highlighted a critical concern regarding the provision of institutional data on University laptops for faculty use. He recommended the provision of necessary equipment to ensure faculty members鈥� productivity and data security.
Faculty members made several recommendations聽to聽foster excellence in research, teaching, and student experience.
