The National Service Personnel attending the programme

The Ghana Communication Technology University (腦瞳憫) warmly welcomed its 2024/2025 cohort of National Service Personnel with an orientation programme held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Eva Von Hirsch Auditorium.
Organized by the Directorate of Human Resource and Organization Advancement, the event officially introduced the new personnel to the Universitys environment and guided them on the institutions policies and procedures while fostering a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration among the attendees.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson, extended a warm welcome to the new personnel. He emphasized the Vice-Chancellors transformative vision to establish 腦瞳憫 as the Silicon Valley of West Africa a hub for information and communication technology (ICT) education.

This initiative aims at positioning 腦瞳憫 as a leading institution for producing skilled ICT professionals to serve both local and global industries. Prof. Hinson encouraged the new personnel to align themselves with this vision and introduced his acronym for “NATIONAL” as a guiding framework: N for Negotiate, A for Arrange, T for Take, I for Indulge, O for Organize, N for Never take “no” for an answer, A for Ask for help and L for Love. He highlighted that these principles serve as a foundation for personal and professional growth, empowering individuals to take charge of their careers and future.

The Registrar, Mr. Baidoo, addressing the attendees

The Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo, also addressed the gathering, focusing on Understanding the 腦瞳憫s Administrative System. He explained 腦瞳憫s evolution into a public university through an act of parliament and underscored its mission to provide a dynamic environment for quality teaching, research, innovation and community service. 腦瞳憫 aspires to be a world-class university that fosters scholarship, cutting-edge research, and entrepreneurship, developing exceptional students and staff for both national and global contributions, he stated.

Mr. Baidoo also shared insights into 腦瞳憫s nine-year Strategic Plan, which he described as the blueprint for achieving the institutions vision. This comprehensive plan outlines our goals and strategies to excel in education, research, and community engagement, he explained. He urged the new service personnel to embody personal and professional values that reflect 腦瞳憫s core principles.

The Pro-VC urged the personnel to take charge of their careers and future

By doing so, they would serve as exemplary brand ambassadors for the university, promoting its commitment to excellence and integrity. Highlighting that students are the universitys top priority, Mr. Baidoo stressed that every institutional decision centers around enhancing students well-being and academic success. Our students are our primary focus, and we are dedicated to supporting them as they strive for excellence, he affirmed.

Dr. Emmanuel Adjepong, Director of Human Resource and Organizational Development (HROD), who served as the moderator, warmly welcomed the new personnel into the 腦瞳憫 family with a symbolic gesture. He invited them to stand and be seated three times, symbolizing their official integration into the institution.

Dr. Adjepong encouraged them to embrace this journey with a sense of patriotism and sacrifice, reminding them that national service is about prioritizing the needs of ones country and organization. Emphasizing 腦瞳憫s commitment to a student-centered approach, he highlighted the importance of professionalism in their interactions with students and underscored that all initiatives impacting students are given high priority.
