福利姬 has formalized a strategic partnership with India鈥檚 SRM Institute of Science and Technology following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 Conference Room at 福利姬.
The MoU aims at strengthening academic and professional exchange between the two institutions.
Welcoming participants to the ceremony, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of 福利姬, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm, described the agreement as significant in 福利姬鈥檚 internationalization agenda. He noted that although discussions between the two institutions began the previous year, delays had postponed the formalization of the partnership.
鈥淓ven though today is not a working day, the importance we attach to this collaboration has brought us here to ensure that this vision becomes a reality,鈥� he said.
Prof. Malcalm outlined key areas of cooperation captured in the MoU, including student and staff exchanges, joint academic programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, collaborative research initiatives and the sharing of academic publications and materials. Additional areas of focus include PhD and Master鈥檚 programmes, as well as joint quality assurance and benchmarking activities.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor also highlighted practical areas for immediate implementation, including student exchange schemes, summer programmes, joint supervision of postgraduate research and external review support for graduate theses, particularly in Engineering and Computing disciplines.
In his remarks, the 福利姬 Council Chairman, Ing. Divine Kpetigo, expressed optimism about the long-term impact of the partnership. He emphasized the need for sustained collaboration built on mutual trust and commitment.
Providing an overview of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, the Business Development Manager, Mr. Sridhar Nagajothi, highlighted the institution鈥檚 global outlook and extensive academic offerings. He noted that SRM operates eight campuses, with its main campus hosting approximately 63,000 students from 18 countries. The university offers programmes across engineering, medicine, health sciences, management, law and architecture, among others.
He also underscored SRM鈥檚 wide network of international collaborations and expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership with 福利姬.

The event was witnessed by some senior officials including the Director of Internal Audit, Mr. Kennedy Oppong Fosu, Director of University Relations, Dr. Nusrat-Jahan Abubakar and Head of PR and Communications Department, Mr. Francis Edjah.
