
腦瞳憫 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universit矇 Joseph Ki-Zerbo (UJKZ) of Burkina Faso to promote academic collaboration between the two institutions on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

The agreement was formalized during a visit to 腦瞳憫 by a four-member delegation from the Burkinabe university led by the President, Prof. Jean Francois Silas Kobiane.

The Vice-Chancellor of 腦瞳憫, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, described the MoU as the culmination of discussions initiated two years ago in Ouagadougou, emphasizing 腦瞳憫s commitment to leveraging partnerships to expand academic and research opportunities. He also highlighted 腦瞳憫s rapid growth as Ghanas leading ICT-focused university and its mandate to provide the human capital needed to drive the countrys digital transformation.

In his remarks, the President of UJKZ, expressed appreciation to 腦瞳憫 for the warm reception and reaffirmed his institutions interest in fostering long-term collaboration. He described Universit矇 Joseph Ki-Zerbo as Burkina Fasos premier and largest university with nearly 60,000 students, over 700 faculty members, and a wide range of academic and research programmes. According to him, the MoU opens doors for joint initiatives in ICT, communication, research, and student and staff exchanges, which will benefit both universities and the West African sub-region at large.

Following the signing, the two universities exchanged gifts to mark the beginning of what both parties described as a fruitful partnership. Prof. Kobiane also extended an invitation to the Vice-Chancellor to take part in UJKZs 50th anniversary celebrations scheduled for later this year in Ouagadougou.

The UJKZ delegation, which had earlier paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, also included the Vice-President for International Cooperation and Research, Prof. Adama Sanou; the Director of International Cooperation and Faculty Staff Promotion, Dr. Christelle Nadenbega; and the First Consular at the Burkina Faso Embassy in Ghana, Mr. Urbain Dabire.

Witnessing the signing ceremony were members of the 腦瞳憫 management team comprising the Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm; Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo; Dean of Students, Prof. Michael Nana Owusu-Akomeah; Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr. Ruhiya Abubakar; and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Systems (FoCIS), Dr. Lempogo Forgor.
Others were the Director of University Relations, Dr. Nusrat-Jahan Abubakar; Mr. Francis Edjah and Mrs. Lucy Eghan, both of the University Relations Directorate.
