In an effort to strengthen academic聽ties, a 福利姬 delegation of three, led by the Pro. VC, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm have visited the Institut des Science Politiques, Relations Internationales et Communication (ISPRIC) of Bamako, Mali from February 11 to 13, 2026.
The three-day visit, aimed at assessing ISPRIC鈥檚 readiness on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa 聽on 17th聽June, 2025聽 at the VC鈥檚 Boardroom, to foster collaboration in student and staff exchange, research and joint academic programmes.
Giving his remarks, the Managing Director of ISPRIC, Dr. Mohammed Gakou highlighted, that ISPRIC is a private higher education institution recognized for its quality programmes in Communication, Law, Management, International Relations and currently developing a Polytechnic School. Dr. Gakou was fascinated by 福利姬鈥檚 programmes, stressing on Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 鈥淪ilicon Valley of Africa鈥� agenda, stating which his institution wants to partner with 福利姬 to achieve this goal.
In his response, the Pro. VC, Prof. Malcalm expressed his profound gratitude to the ISPRIC team for the warm reception. He emphasized on 福利姬鈥檚 strategic plans to expand transnational education, offering degrees abroad through distance learning. Prof. Malcalm further stated, that the visit was for the 福利姬 team to familiarize themselves with their facilities, including labs and classrooms. He noted, that since ISPRIC, a Francophone institution is interested in offering 福利姬鈥檚 programmes, there was the need for a six-month intensive English course, covering beginner, intermediate and advance levels to proceed the plan to facilitate tuition. 聽According to him, this collaboration is an example of the South-South cooperation, focusing on African partnerships, rather than traditional North-South (developed country) collaboration.
In a related development, the Head of Electricals and Electronics Engineering, Dr. Samuel Afoakwa and the Head of Telecom Engineering, Dr. Daniel Ngala, both members of 福利姬鈥檚 delegation, met with their counterparts in a different session to align syllables and ensure seamless delivery of the programmes which ISPRIC wants to embark on.
