The 腦瞳憫 Coordinators for the One Million Coders Programme (OMCP) have presented 15 Lenovo laptops to the three faculties of the University to enhance their administrative work on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm, who received the laptops on behalf of the University, handed them over to representatives of the beneficiary faculties. Each of the three faculties received five laptops for distribution to their respective departments.

In his remarks, Prof. Malcalm disclosed that the University was in the process of acquiring and providing high-specification laptops to faculty members, administrators and directors to enhance efficiency and productivity. He noted that Management had recognised equipment challenges confronting some faculties and schools, particularly the shortage of laptops for academic and administrative activities.

According to him, providing staff with the necessary digital tools would enhance their ability to work effectively while boosting morale and productivity.

���So, this is just the beginning of bigger things that are going to happen, and already you have seen that we have started equipping the offices of some Faculties,��� Prof. Malcalm said.

He appealed to the beneficiary faculties to distribute the laptops equitably among their departments to ensure they are readily available for meetings, presentations and other academic activities.

A representative of the 腦瞳憫 OMCP and Director of Research, Innovation and Consultancy, Prof. William Leslie Brown-Acquaye explained that the presentation aimed to provide hardware directly to the faculties where teaching, learning and other academic activities take place. He said the laptops would improve productivity and urged the beneficiary faculties to distribute them among their respective departments and use them for their intended purposes.

Speaking on behalf of the faculty members, Prof. Wahab Abdul Iddrisu expressed appreciation to the OMCP for the support. He disclosed that the Faculty of Engineering had previously received 25 laptops to support the establishment of an additional computer laboratory for students across the University.

He said the initiative would increase access to computer laboratories and provide students with resources needed for practical academic work, including coding and simulations.

The OMCP is a government flagship initiative aimed at equipping Ghanaian youth with digital skills and artificial intelligence literacy needed to thrive in a technology-driven world. It also supports academic institutions that have integrated the initiative into their programmes.

腦瞳憫 has entered into a partnership with ManyTek International LLC, a United States (US)-based technology and workforce innovation centre, to create practical job and internship opportunities for students of the University.

The partnership, signed on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the 腦瞳憫 Main Campus in Tesano, Accra, by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm, and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ManyTek International, Mr. Emmanuel Damptey, includes the establishment of an ultra-modern studio to support the creation of podcasts for the University.

ManyTek International is known for delivering cyber operations and developing workforce intelligence systems designed to verify, deploy and scale talent.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Malcalm said the partnership symbolised a shared vision and commitment to preparing the next generation of professionals for success in an increasingly digital and technology-driven world.

He said 腦瞳憫, as a public university focused on technological innovation and digital transformation, continued to pursue strategic partnerships that enhance teaching and learning, promote innovation, strengthen industry collaboration and create opportunities for students, faculty and staff.

Prof. Malcalm expressed optimism that the partnership would open new pathways for industry-recognised Cisco certification, enhanced digital skills training and improved access to technology-driven opportunities for students.

A delegation from ManyTek International LLC, a United States-based technology and workforce innovation centre, has paid a courtesy call on the Acting Vice-Chancellor of 腦瞳憫, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

The visit, which took place ahead of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, provided an opportunity to familiarise themselves and discuss areas of mutual interest.

The proposed collaboration seeks to expose 腦瞳憫 students to international internship and employment opportunities, particularly in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI), while providing practical experience to complement their academic training. It will also facilitate the establishment of a ManyTek Workforce Intelligence System (MWIS) and the development of the University���s podcast.

Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Malcalm said the partnership was significant to the University���s efforts to prepare graduates for the global job market.

���What you are bringing on board will make it global, because our students also have to be placed. What we are trying to do is to ensure that before our students leave the University, they are fully prepared and ready for the global job market,��� he said.

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ManyTek International, Mr. Emmanuel Damptey, said the organisation had established partnerships with educational institutions across the world to create international internship and employment opportunities for young people.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of 腦瞳憫, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm, has cautioned students against the unethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic work, stressing that they should uphold academic integrity and ensure that their assignments reflect their own intellectual contributions.

Prof. Malcalm made the remarks when he addressed newly enrolled students at the orientation programme for the School of Graduate Studies and Research (SGSR) on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the University’s main campus in Tesano, Accra.

He said that while AI could be a useful tool for research and learning, but students must not rely on it to produce academic work without applying their own understanding and appropriately acknowledging sources.

Prof. Malcalm said 腦瞳憫 has the technological capacity to detect academic work generated through AI and would not tolerate plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct.

He urged the students to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, honesty and ethical conduct, which he described as fundamental principles of scholars.

The Vice Dean of SGSR, Dr Afia Nyarko Boakye, urged the newly enrolled students to make good use of the resources and support services available to them, engage positively with lecturers and colleagues and take their research and academic responsibilities seriously.

She reminded the students that postgraduate education requires independent thinking, critical inquiry, collaboration and a willingness to learn continuously.

The Head of Administration of SGSR, Dr Mark Ofori Nketia, assured the students that the administration remained open and committed to addressing their concerns, particularly those relating to their academic programmes.

A Senior Lecturer at the 腦瞳憫 Business School, Dr Ethel Tenkorang, said the Business School programmes blend theory with practical learning, equipping students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment, adding that the School had put the necessary arrangements in place to welcome and support the newly enrolled students.

A Senior Lecturer and Head of the Information Systems Department, Dr Fred Amankwah-Sarfo, also urged the students to take advantage of the opportunities available to them at the University.

He expressed the University’s excitement about welcoming the new students and encouraged them to work hard towards becoming responsible graduates and proud alumni of 腦瞳憫.
